Britain’s top Turkish chefs showcasing food for Turkey at Taste of London

 

The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism is exhibiting at one the hippest foodie festivals in Britain. Taste of London kicks off in Regent’s Park, Central London, this evening and runs until Sunday. Leading names from the capital’s flourishing Turkish restaurant scene will be cooking up treats on the Turkish stand, among them Selin Kiazim, Hus Vedat, and Hüseyin Özer.

Taste of London is the capital’s flagship food event, paying homage to London’s best restaurants, leading chefs, and all its glorious food and drinks to taste. Each year, top chefs showcase their creative talent through live demonstrations, with this year seeing a major focus on Turkish cuisine.

Turkish food has become firmly established as one of the world’s favourite cuisines. The seasons and regions play a significant part in its food specialities. Turkey welcomes and is home to seven climates, a history dating back thousands of years with much food variety and delights to cater for all palates.

This year, the Turkish Ministry of Tourism’s UK team are partnering Taste of London. Their stand will host top Turkish culinary chefs such as Hüseyin Özer of Sofra Restaurants, Selin Kiazim of Oklava, Ozlem Warren of Ozlem’s Turkish Table, Servet Kilic of OTTO Mediterranean, and Serhat Onal of Kibele, each bringing their take on Turkish food trends.

On Friday 16 June, there is more celebration of Turkish cooking with Yosma London’s executive chef Hus Vedat and fellow British chef Ed Baines cooking up a feast of Turkish Manti at the Taste Theatre at 3pm.

Visitors are invited to the Turkish tent to enjoy famous Turkish hospitality, with fresh and frothy Turkish coffees from Kahve Dunyasi, and Turkey’s all-round favourite simit from Simit Sarayi.

About Taste of London

The five day festival is an event showcasing the capital’s best restaurants, current food and drink trends and top brands. The flagship event at London’s most famous park, Regent’s Park hosts 55,000 food lovers. Top chefs will showcase signature dishes, an opportunity to see at first hand the creativity which goes into the mouth-watering delights.
