Azerbaijan, Turkey and England in action this week for World Cup qualifiers

The European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar get underway this week, with games taking place on Wednesday, 24 and Thursday, 25 March.

Turkey, Azerbaijan and Wales are in action on Wednesday evening, with England, Northern Ireland and Scotland playing on Thursday. Sky Sports will be giving extensive coverage of all the games.

Turkish state broadcaster TRT1 will have live coverage of Turkey vs Netherlands. ITV will be broadcasting the England vs San Marino match, and Azeri channel CBC Sport will televise Wednesday’s match between Portugal and Azerbaijan.

The Qatar World Cup will run from 21 November to 18 December 2022. The qualifiers will take place between March and November 2021, with play-offs scheduled for March 2022. The draw for the finals will take place in April 2022.
