British Turks turn on the talent for the 2nd Turkish Community Art Exhibition

A new exhibition has opened in London showcasing the creative talents of professional and amateur artists of Turkish heritage living in Britain.

Titled the 2nd Turkish Community Art Exhibition, and on display at the Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) just off Tottenham Court Road, the artwork includes traditional and contemporary pieces, from oil paintings to sculpture, and ceramics.

The community were invited to submit their art for consideration last year. The selection was made by a 5-person jury comprising YEI director Dr Mehmet Karakuş, Çınar Ergin, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in London, and artists Nagihan Seymour, Terry Katalan and Nilay Işlek.
