Turkish superstar Nükhet Duru to perform at British Turkish Women’s charity ball on Sunday

The Turkish community will be glamming up this weekend for a good cause. The British Turkish Women’s Association (ATWIB) turns 15 this year and to celebrate it is throwing its annual charity ball at the swanky Millennium Hotel in Mayfair this weekend.

The evening will feature one of Turkish classical pop’s biggest singers – Nükhet Duru (pictured above) – who is jetting in especially for the occasion. A few tickets are still available for the gala event, which will have live music, a prize draw and many other fun-filled surprises for guests. All funds raised will go towards this year’s education charities that the ATWIB are supporting.

The ATWIB was formed on 11 February 2002 and has been active ever since. The group’s mission is to represent modern Turkish women in the best possible way, holding regular activities that bring members and the wider community together.

ATWIB chairwoman Maviş Fuchs said: “We are proud of the achievements of our association and the contributions we have made to our community, especially through our fundraising activities to support charities and projects involved in education and women’s issues.”

She added, “To those friends who would like to help with this year’s fundraising, please come to our charity ball on Sunday. It’s open to everyone and it’s sure to be a fantastic occasion as we celebrate our 15th anniversary with our special guest from Turkey and much more.”
