Free South London transport for those attending TRNC Deputy Prime Minister Kudret Özersay’s Wood Green talk

On Thursday 19 July, the TRNC Deputy Prime Minister Kudret Özersay will be giving a talk to the community about his Project for Overseas Turkish Cypriots (Yurtdışı Kıbrıslı Türkler Projesi). It follows the politician’s announcement in March of this year to make investing and resettling in North Cyprus easier for the Turkish Cypriot diaspora.

His talk, in Turkish, will take place at the Grand Palace Banqueting Suite in Wood Green at 7pm. The TRNC London office is laying on transport for those wanting to attend from South London. Any who wish to take advantage must pre-book their places as soon as possible.

Özersay, who also doubles up as the TRNC’s Foreign Affairs Minister, is on record as supporting the right to vote in TRNC elections for Turkish Cypriots living abroad. He also wants to implement a programme that will help the diaspora overcome red tape and other unnecessary obstacles when they move to North Cyprus. He will explain details of the programme at his talk at the Grand Palace in Wood Green.

The People’s Party (Halkın Partisi) leader will also be taking part in the various events organised by the TRNC London Office as part of Turkish Cypriots’ annual 20 July Peace and Freedom Day celebrations. They include a concert and reception, and a photography exhibition. Full details are here.
