One of Türkiye’s leading singer-songwriters, Sıla, is returning to London this autumn for her first concert in the capital in nearly four years.
The award-winning Turkish pop star will perform at indigo at The O2 on Sunday, 18 October 2026, bringing with her a new album as well as a formidable back catalogue containing some of the most memorable Turkish pop songs of the past two decades.
Sıla, full name Sıla Gençoğlu, last appeared at the same Greenwich venue in December 2022, when she performed songs from across her career alongside material from her then-new album Şarkıcı.
Her return to London comes during another prolific period for the singer, who released her latest studio album, Kafa Yüksek Kalp Kırık, in April.
The 12-track record includes Cayır Cayır, Evvel Ezel, Ağırbaşlı Serseri, Kötü Kötü, Hayran, Tanıdık Biri, İzmir, Neon Hayatlar and 9 Canlı, along with alternative versions of several tracks.
The new album follows the 2025 acoustic record Ayna Yazısı, continuing a recording career that began almost two decades ago and has established Sıla as one of the defining female voices of contemporary Turkish pop.
From “…Dan Sonra” to “Yan Benimle”
Born in Denizli and raised partly in İzmir, Sıla first came to nationwide attention with her self-titled debut album in 2007 and its breakthrough hit “…Dan Sonra”.
What followed was a string of successful albums and singles that helped give the singer a distinctive place in Turkish popular music, combining sophisticated pop arrangements with lyrics centred on love, heartbreak, longing and relationships.
Her extensive catalogue includes fan favourites such as Kafa, Boş Yere, Acısa da Öldürmez, Yan Benimle, İnşallah, Sevişmeden Uyumayalım and Muhbir, alongside many more songs likely to be familiar to Turkish music fans in Britain.
Konuşmadığımız Şeyler Var in 2010, Vaveyla in 2012, Yeni Ay in 2014 and Mürekkep in 2016 were among the albums that cemented her position at the forefront of Turkish pop.
Sıla is also regarded as much for her songwriting as for her distinctive, expressive vocals, having written or co-written much of her own material during a career that has repeatedly moved between mainstream pop and more acoustic and jazzy forms.
A Turkish-Greek collaboration
The singer has remained busy since the release of Kafa Yüksek Kalp Kırık.
In July, she teamed up with popular Greek singer Konstantinos Argiros on the bilingual single Ax Kardia Mou / Yanımda Uyu.
Released on 3 July, the collaboration sees Argiros’s Greek hit reworked with Turkish lyrics written by Sıla, bringing the two languages together on the same recording. The arrangement is by Cenk Erdoğan and also features acclaimed Turkish clarinettist Hüsnü Şenlendirici.
The song provides another addition to the repertoire Sıla could draw upon when she arrives in London in October.
For her sizeable British Turkish fanbase, however, the biggest attraction is likely to be hearing almost 20 years of Sıla favourites live again alongside songs from Kafa Yüksek Kalp Kırık.
