T-VINE Magazine is an independent print and online publication covering news, culture, lifestyle and human interest stories from the world of Turks. Every day, our team of writers serve up an intelligent, informative and entertaining mix of articles. With an unrivalled set of contacts in the UK, Turkiye, North Cyprus, Azerbaijan, and beyond, our readers can expect fresh perspectives and interesting insights with a healthy dose of humour to boot!
Launched over a decade ago in April 2013, T-VINE remains the UK’s first and only consumer publication that's entirely in English. The content is primarily aimed at the half-a-million Turks in Britain - that is to say those people who identify as ethnically Turkish or whose roots and cultural heritage hails from Turkiye, Cyprus and the Turkic nations, including Azerbaijan. However, T-VINE's readership is far broader; it is popular with both native Turks and international residents in Turkiye and Cyprus, as well as the Turkish diaspora in countries such as Australia, the USA, Germany, France, and Canada.
Short for ‘Turkish Grapevine’, T-VINE's founder İpek Özerim drew on her own multi-cultural upbringing in London as well as her experiences living in Turkiye's cultural capital Istanbul and North Cyprus, where she had the opportunity to learn about the diverse communities that make up the rich heritage of both countries firsthand. T-VINE celebrates and reflects this diversity through its stories.
Our political views are equally diverse, cutting across the entire political spectrum. What binds us is our common interest in happenings within the UK Turkish community, and our desire to remain connected to our roots and important events ‘in the Motherland’.
T‑VINE fills an important gap for those whose first language is English – now thought to be two-thirds of British Turks. We help to chronicle the news and opinions that matter to our community through balanced commentary and rigorous reporting, while also highlighting specialist areas – in arts and entertainment, food and drink, and spiritual matters.
Although the print version has been on a hiatus since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic in 2020, it is due to return as a bi-annual publication at the end of 2024.
Both the print magazine and online portal are currently free to readers. We rely on advertising and other commercial revenue streams, such as magazine subscriptions and the online Business Directory, to cover our costs.
