The much-hyped Istanbul band Islandman continue their stratospheric rise with their biggest UK show to date early in the New Year.
The electro-acoustic live trio provide a unique mix of mellow electronic dance beats with spacey live guitars, backed up by shamanic rhythms. Combining Turkish psychedelia and rhythms rooted in East Africa with electronic structures, the band continue the Anatolian tradition of fusing the music of the world with its own.
Islandman’s latest project features Turkish jazz legend Okay Temiz, known for his iconic Oriental Wind Ensemble, and Turkish folk pioneer Muhlis Berberoğlu. Both will join the band live on stage for a unique collaborative performance this January.
