One of London’s oldest and largest Turkish schools will be staging its annual end-of-year fun day for students, parents and the wider community on the last Saturday of June. The Dr Fazıl Küçük Turkish School 16th Summer Festival will take place at Conisborough College in Catford, Southeast London. The day will include students performing traditional Anatolian and Turkish Cypriot folk dancing, barbecue, bouncy castle, face painting, music, and stalls. The festival is not only a fabulous way to end the academic year, but also allows Dr Fazıl Küçük Turkish School to raise vital funds to help with the running costs of their weekend language school. There is a small entrance fee to the festival and the school will also hold a big raffle on the day. The event was moved to a Saturday to make way for Konsey’s big new Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival in Chingford on 25 June.
