Lancashire artists Ayten Nightingale and Robert Haworth to showcase work in new exhibition ‘Nature’

Two artists will be presenting a selection of their ‘Nature’ themed art works in a new joint exhibition being hosted by the Anchorsholme Library in Blackpool.

Originally from London and of Turkish Cypriot heritage, Ayten Nightingale’s creativity straddles a range of forms including tapestry and canvas work.

Her colourful paintings often feature scenes from the natural world, such as birds and wildlife. The former education and wellbeing professional has long argued that this type of creative release is “therapeutic”.

Ayten’s paintings will be showcased alongside those by her long-standing artist friend Robert Haworth, who is known by the name ‘Butterfly Man’ for his stunning butterfly depictions that he has been producing for the past 28 years.

Robert says he has always been “fascinated” with butterflies and wanted to show “how beautiful” they are, comparing their transformation to the metamorphosis seen in his art.

”As you can see in the colours, it’s kind of like my feelings and emotions too that are expressed through my artwork, which is all drawn in pencil. Each one takes two months to create,” Robert explained.

Robert’s striking artwork has been viewed in over 100 countries, and is also available on his website,  www.iamthebutterflyman.com .

‘Nature’ opens on 6 April and runs for one month. The exhibition is open to the public and admission is free.
