Turkish Cypriot pop star Buray adds London leg to his 2024 European Tour

Lefkoşa born singer-songwriter Buray has rarely been out of the Turkish charts since releasing his critically acclaimed debut album 1 Şişe Aşk [1 Bottle of Love] in 2015, which scored him two number hits “İstersen” and “Sen Sevda Mısın”, and won him multiple awards and a legion of fans.

Buray has gone on to release four more studio albums: Sahiden (2016), Kehanet (2018), Başka Hikayeler (2021), and his most recent, Al Senin Olsun Dünya, released last year, which reflects how far he has travelled musically and as an artist.

The 14-track long play is again a mix of ballads and upbeat songs powered by catchy lyrics and melodic tunes that is easy on the ear,  featuring songs penned together with his long-term songwriting collaborator Gözde Ançel, along with compositions by Emrah Karakuyu, Fikri Karayel and Cem Belev.

Speaking about his new album, Buray said: “You will not feel that the songs end and a new one begins, because all the stories are connected to each other as the music transitions. It’s a complete long-distance album.”

The 39-year-old artist describes the musical inspirations for his new album: “The songs, which contain magical touches from every corner of the world, from reggaeton to rock music, from folk dance to tango, from roman dance tunes to Mediterranean music, contain the inspirations an explorer has retained from his travels.”

Now firmly established as one of Turkiye’s biggest pop stars, Buray (full name Buray Hoşsöz) embarks on a European tour to share his new music with fans. He returns to the O2 Academy Islington, where he last played in 2019, for his sole UK date in May.
