Wellbeing at the TWPA: learn about the ancient art of acupuncture and its healing power

The Turkish Women’s Philanthropic Association (TWPA) is continuing with its wellbeing events by hosting a session on ‘The Ancient Art of Acupuncture and its Healing Power’ at is Turnpike Lane, North London centre.

The guest speaker is Linda Cremin, a reiki master and specialist in alternative treatments, who runs a regular Wednesday clinic at the TWPA drop-in centre.

Linda will talk about traditional Chinese medicine, homing in on acupuncture and its health benefits. She will also offer simple ear acupuncture to those who wish to experience what the treatment is like.

The event will take place in an informal setting, where guests can listen and learn about this traditional Chinese medicine over a cup of tea and cake.

About acupuncture

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine for balancing the flow of energy, known as chi. It is commonly used to treat pain, but is also increasingly being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

Acupuncture points are thought to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. Some believe that this stimulation boosts your body’s natural painkillers.

Acupuncture at the TWPA

TWPA has been working with Linda Cremin to offer ear acupuncture at their centre to help members overcome anxiety and the treatment has been well received.

Linda and TWPA are now offering members and non-members alike the chance to learn more about this alternative medicine and trial it with ear acupuncture to see the benefits first-hand before delving into a full body treatment.

TWPA members can then benefit from a specially funded project that will offer full body acupuncture at the TWPA Wednesday clinic for less than half price.
