A Turkish-themed Valentine’s party? Check out TWPA’s Valentine’s Disco at the Grand Palace Banqueting Suite

Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us; an opportunity for couples to enjoy a romantic night out, and there will be no shortage of restaurants and venues seeking to attract your custom for Tuesday 14 February and the weekend before it.

If you’re in London and looking for Turkish-themed night, or if you need some love but are currently single, then check out the Valentine’s Disco at the Grand Banqueting Suite, Wood Green, that is being organised by the Turkish Women’s Philanthropic Association (TWPA) on Friday, 10 February.

Organisers say this is an event “by the Turkish community for the Turkish community”, that will provide “a great opportunity to meet new friends” for couples and those who are single.

The event is open to all adults aged 18 and over, whether they are single or couples or groups. They will be treated to a four-course meal with starters, a main meal with salad and vegetables, dessert, and a fruit platter, as well as soft drinks. Alcohol is an additional extra that can be purchased at the bar.

Entertainment on the night will be courtesy of DJ Delight, who will be spinning those Turkish party classics that are guaranteed to get you up to shimmy shake, as well as those ballads for the obligatory smoochy dance.

Talking to T-VINE, TWPA’s new chair Seyyare Beyzade said the disco brings back an old TWPA tradition: “We used to do events for the younger community and the Valentine events were always very popular and successful.

“Over the years other associations started to do them also and with changing committee members we slowly stopped.

“In recent years we have had quite a few Turkish people approach us and ask us to start doing events for the younger generation. Many feel isolated from the community and they do not have the opportunity to meet other Turkish people, and so we thought we would start it up again. Hopefully this event will be the start of many, bringing our young community together and by doing so, maybe, enable them to get more involved with our community.”

“We have fantastic food and a dynamite DJ. It will be an amazing night!” adds Ms Beyzade.

Tickets are priced £55 per person. For reservations and more information, call TWPA 077861 961 57 on or email info@twpa.co.uk
