Turkish Airlines keeps its crown as Europe’s Best Airline for 8th year running

Turkiye’s flagship carrier Turkish Airlines was named Europe’s Best Airline for the eighth consecutive year by Skytrax, the global ranking body for the air industry.

Turkish Airlines received their prestigious prize at the Skytrax World Airline Awards – also known as the ‘Oscars of the Aviation Industry’ on Tuesday at an event held at the Paris Air and Space Museum.

The airline was also named the winner of other Skytrax award categories on Tuesday, including for Best Business Class Catering, Best Economy Class Catering, and Best Economy Class Seat in Europe.

Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi said, “This award [for Europe’s Best Airline] strengthens our flag carrier’s leading position in the sector. We will continue to improve our service standards and provide the best possible experience for our guests.”

The Skytrax scores mean Turkish Airlines moves up the global air rankings to sixth place out of more than 325 airlines.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said: “It has been a fantastic year for Turkish Airlines in terms of awards, and winning the top prize as the best airline in Europe for the eighth time is a remarkable achievement.”

The Skytrax awards are based on the responses of more than 20 million airline customers from over 100 nationalities.

This year, Qatar Airways lost its title as the World’s Best Sirline to Singapore Airlines in 2023, dropping to second place.

Japan’s All Nippon Airways was the world’s third-best carrier, Emirates ranked fourth and Japan Airlines came fifth.
