UK Turkish women’s group to hold fundraising tea party in London to celebrate International Women’s Day

With the tragedy of the massive earthquakes in Turkiye very much at the forefront of everyone’s mind, this year the Association of Turkish Women in Britain (ATWIB) will be fundraising for its annual International Women’s Day event.

ATWIB, or Britanya Türk Kadınları Derneği (BTKD) in Turkish, is hosting an elegant afternoon tea party at the luxurious Middle Eight Hotel in Covent Garden this Saturday, 11 March. Tickets are priced £50 per person and all proceeds from the event will be donated to assist the earthquake victims.

“In this difficult time, while we mourn the great disaster in our homeland, we also need to support each other and band together the wounds of those who suffered from the earthquake,” said the group’s flyer for the event.

Places for the tea party are limited, however, so those wishing to attend should book their places fast. Those who cannot attend the International Women’s Day event can still support the group’s fundraiser by donating to the BTKD Earthquake Fund. All donations will be passed on to registered charities involved in the earthquake relief effort.
