An ‘Epic’ night ahead for Olcay Bayır album fundraiser with special guests Djanan Turan, Ece Duzgit, and Debora Ipekel

Everyone’s invited to a special party on Friday night in North London where there will be talent galore and oodles of positive energy to kick-off the weekend. Three live acts and DJs line-up alongside singer-songwriter Olcay Bayır as part of her fundraising efforts for her new album Rüya/Dream.

Hailing from Turkey, Olcay Bayır is now based in London and was nominated for Best Newcomer in the 2015 Songlines Music Awards following her critically acclaimed debut album Neva / Harmony (2014) published by Riverboat Record. Classically-trained with a gorgeous velvet voice, Olcay’s music crosses geographical, as well as musical boundaries.

The Guardian Music described her as “an impressive newcomer to London’s vibrant global music scene” after seeing her live and awarded her 4 stars. She’s since appeared at multiple international festivals, on BBC radio, and television.

On Friday night, Olcay steps out on stage in her new home city performing with a cracking band led by Giuliano Modarelli from the group Kefaya. Helping her to raise vital new funds for her follow-up album are fellow artists from Turkey, whose artistry will take you on a fabulous East-West musical journey.

Special guest performers

Musical chanteuse Djanan Turan is renowned for her sassy, quirky and positive vibe. A regular feature at UK festivals and London clubs, her influences range from jazz to raga and Turkish beats, to cabaret and – in her last release Dancing Feet – disco.
