Tickets flying out for Turkish hip hop star Sagopa Kajmer’s May concert at Camden’s Electric Ballroom

One of the hottest tickets for Turkish London this year will undoubtedly be Sagopa Kajmer’s concert. The celebrated hip-hop artist is live at Camden’s iconic Electric Ballroom this spring and first release tickets have already sold out!

Behind hits such as “Bir Pesimistin Gözyaşları,” “366.Gün”, “Neyim Var Ki,” and “Kalp Hastası,” Kajmer is regarded as one of the godfathers of Turkish rap.

Esquire magazine placed him in its ‘50 People That Make You Happy’ list in 2016, crediting the artist with bringing “new life to the rap music culture in Turkiye”.

Now aged 45, Kajmer broke through with arguably Turkiye’s biggest rap group Kuvvetmira, initially performing under the moniker ‘Silahsız Kuvvet’. During its 15 years of existence (1998-2013), Kuvvetmira released some 36 albums and over 300 tracks, helping to define the genre and propel it to its mainstream status of today.

The Samsun-born rapper, who started life as a DJ, embarked on a parallel solo career to Kuvvetmira, changing his stage name to Sagopa Kajmer in the process. He has collaborated with the likes of Ceza, Ramiz and Patron, written for the soundtrack of Turkish blockbuster movie G.O.R.A., and – prior to finding musical fame – studied a degree in Persian language and literature at Istanbul University. The immensely talented artist is also the only rapper to have played in every one of Turkiye’s 81 provinces.

His melodic rap songs have been streamed over a billion times on YouTube alone, with fans loving his distinctive voice and powerful lyrics, helping to establish him as a pivotal figure in the Turkish rap scene.

Fans can expect an electrifying performance from this hip-hop maestro when he plays in London in May. Get your tickets fast before they sell out!
