London’s O2 Forum the next stop for superstar Ferhat Göçer

Artist Ferhat Göçer continues to defy expectations. The 49-year-old doctor-turned-singing sensation first burst onto Turkey’s musical scene in 2005 with his self-named diamond-certified debut release, and has remained at the top of the Turkish music charts ever since.

Nine more studio albums, several compilations and EPs have followed, each providing a slew of number 1 hits, including Cennet (2007), Biri Bana Gelsin (2008), Üzüm (2010), Git (2014), and Günah (2017, feat. Volga Tamoz), cementing his credentials as one of the country’s major pop stars.

Stylistically, the Kurdish singer refuses to be pigeon-holed, effortlessly criss-crossing Turkey’s rich musical tapestry, delivering songs that encompass Anatolia’s traditional sounds of Folk, Blues and Classical music, combined tinges of Western pop.

His latest release, Sabahattin Ali Şarkıları, released last month on Poll Records, takes off on another musical trajectory as he puts the words of writer and poet Sabahattin Ali to music. He has turned the project into a musical, which he has been touring across Turkey to rave reviews.

On 15 March, Ferhat Göçer will be playing his biggest hits and a selection from his new album at a gig at London’s O2 Forum in Kentish Town. Always fantastic live, get your tickets now before they sell out!
