TRNC President Ersin Tatar to give a talk on his 2-state solution to London Turkish Cypriots

The President of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, will be making a three day visit to Britain.

Arriving on Saturday, 5 November, the president will hold a public conference in a North London venue on the Sunday, where he will talk about his efforts to formalise a two-state solution in Cyprus. The conference is being organised by the TRNC London Office. The talk will be in Turkish and the event is open to the public.

During his time in London, the president is also expected to support TRNC tourism businesses that are attending the annual World Travel Market expo in London, and to attend a reception organised by the TRNC-based Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce (KTTO), which will bring together British Turkish Cypriot businesses and professionals.

The internationally recognised KTTO, which is responsible for the TRNC’s EU trade across the Green Line in Cyprus, opened an office in London in May of this year to try and increase trade between the UK and the TRNC in the post Brexit-era. President Tatar’s brother-in-law, Turgay Deniz, is the current head of KTTO, a role elected by members of the organisation.

President Tatar, who was initially expected to stay on in London until 9 November, will now return on the 7 November.
